Security Personnel influencing citizens to use unregistered motor bikes - NRSC

Security personnel blamed for citizens flouting road safety regulations Security personnel blamed for citizens flouting road safety regulations

Personnel of the various security agencies are being blamed for setting bad examples for the citizenry to use unregistered motor bikes as well as flout other road safety regulations like riding motors without crash helmets.

Speaking on Radio360' morning programme Morning360 in the Western Region , the Western Regional Commissioner of the National Road Safety Commission, Thomas Bismarck Boakye, said because most security personnel ride unregistered motor bikes and in most instances without helmets, the public also think they can do same since the law cannot be used discriminatorily.

He however commended the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Kofi Boakye for enforcing the Road Traffic Legislation Instrument of 2180 that ensures that all motor vehicles must be registered and therefore asked all police personnel to emulate the good example of the Ashanti Regional Police Commander.
